Ok I know Ive been a tad obsessed with this subject lately but I can't help it. It's what keeps me up at 3am when the world is still and foxes challenge frogs to a beatdown. The strange orchestral battle rising out of the darkness (and from the general direction of the henhouse). I wonder if 'the girls' are sleeping? Surely not!
I love women (and chickens) .
Moved by an ebb or a avalanche, she is either wild eyed or as easy as a Sunday morning. Neither would be a safe bet, who can say? Working mainly with women means I never really know what my day will hold. Laughter and tears, bravery and fragility, generosity and fierce honesty, we are complex. Women truly are mysterious beasts.
I know women who can tell you the calorific content of different types of apples.
I know women who can fix your car or your mac or your mind.
I know girls who know how to cook souffle or how to referee a football game or fix a tap.
I know goddesses that can spot a star sign from a mile off (especially if he smells like soap and woodshavings).
I know lots of women that can tell you the benefits of bone broth, quinoa and men that smell like soap and woodshavings.
I know women that know more about asylum seekers than our Prime minister.
Curious creatures that possess such intricate intelligence, we are varied in where we rest our attention. But, generally speaking, I must say I’m often surprised by how little we understand about our own biology. Our cycles. Our bodies.
Do you understand the unique blueprint that’s written in your DNA?
Do you understand why one day you’re Peachy and the next day you’re Pissed-off?
Do you understand your relationship to the moon and it’s tidal pull towards your menstruation?
Do you understand what nutrition your body needs during your cycle? What self care practices it craves?
Do you understand the effect of oestrogen dominance and how to remedy it?
Do you understand how to balance your cycle when it screams at you with nasty symptoms and sweaty surprises?
Do you understand why sometimes you adore your husband and sometimes you want to roast him over the fire of your fury?
Do you understand why sometimes you can do a million things twice and then somedays you just want to get horizontal watch Netflix?
Do you know why one day you’re craving chicken soup and the next day only chocolate will do?
Do you know how to get things done and when to let it all go?
As a woman that has spent an awful lot of time poking about in all these questions, I now have two questions for you.
1. What do you know about your story?
2. Are you ready to leave that shit behind, rewrite your story and finally heal?
The archetype of the wounded feminine is borne of ignorance, shame and grief. Our suffering often comes from a lack of understanding and a willingness to perpetuate stories that just don’t serve us. Are you ready to heal?
If so, join me on the 15th July for the Hormone Balancing workshop. (details here)
We will sit and talk stories.
And we’ll answer the questions above.
But more importantly my deepest wish is for you to walk away with the beginning of your new story.
The start of your healing.
