Happy New Year. I'd like to begin by expressing my gratitude for 2017. I feel like the year was well spent getting to know you all and further establishing our little yoga community. I am very thankful to all of you for what each of you has given back.
This New Year has had a way of unravelling my edges.
Each year my immediate family focus on grounding for New Years Eve. We cook together, planning complicated menus and eating till midnight. We often light a fire and talk openly about the year ahead. I always go to bed happy, with my world well and truly full.
I feel like the moment I opened my eyes on January 1st, the questions began in my monkey mind. Where am I going? What is my place? How can I do better? What should my focus be? How can I deepen my practice?
I'm all up in the air when I know I need to plant my feet and land.
I'm off to Straddle at the end of this week. The world feels smaller and slower with sand in your hair and kangaroos in the scrub. I need to walk by the ocean. Sleep early and long. Stop eating holiday treats and start nourishing my body with good food. I need to spend some time alone and weave together these scrappy threads of unrest.
When I return to classes on January 23rd I'd like to think there will some positive changes to our classes. Little things that will hopefully make your experience better. Got some feedback for me? Great! I'd love to hear the good, bad and the ugly. My mission this year is to get down to the serious business of service. Shoot me an email at email@example.com with anything that's on your mind.
I'm already trying to digitalise a little more to improve the class pass system and bookings. I'm trying to incorporate a beginners/easy option for classes for people who want to take it easy and slow it down. I want to include more self inquiry and less superfluous chatter (that ones for me, I know I waffle sometimes!) and look at furthering my training to teach you better. At my son's insistence I might try instagram and allow Facebook to fallow.
I've been sprucing up the place, everything has been cleaned or replaced, ready for our return. I'll send out an email in the next few days outlining the changes for 2018 after I mill over any suggestions.
Love and light,
